Nighthawk Island is one of three remote islands that comprise the Coastal Island Research Park (CIRP) off the coast of Savannah, Georgia and houses cutting edge, experimental medical research projects and secret government projects which test the boundaries of ethics and the imagination.

The ISLANDS
The Coastal Island Research Park (CIRP) consists of three islands
Catcall Island: the island is in the shape of an old woman’s shoe or boot and houses the main center, hospital, and is where most of the research projects take place. The Institute of Oceanography and main campus is located near the tip of the island with some mountainous parts father north at the toe of the shoe. Residential areas fall in the middle, and the marshland is at the base.
The island was named Catcall because locals say the sea oats are so tall that when a stiff wind blows, it sounds like a cat mewling in distress.
Whistlestop Island: another remote island with buildings yet to be developed.
It garnered its name from an old ghost tale about a sea captain who lost his bride to a pirate during the turn of the century. Legend claims the sea captain rode the coastal waters for years, grieving for her, whistling her favorite love ballad as he searched. Locals said she was his one true love, that he vowed not to stop whistling until he found her. Some still insist that they’ve heard him whistling late at night when they’ve been out on the water.
Nighthawk Island: the most remote of the islands, an isolated haven for secret, highly classified government projects. The island is highly guarded with security, accessible only by boat or helicopter and was named after a rare type of hawk that comes out at night, a hawk that preys on people as well as other animals.
Local police and the FBI suspect the center of performing unethical research experiments on unsuspecting people, and are investigating the center, but scientists are close-lipped, security is tight, and some who have investigated the center have become subjects of the experimental procedures themselves. Others, as well as two scientists who tried to leave the center have not survived…
THE HEROES
Only the toughest, strongest and most daring men are willing to explore the secrets of Nighthawk Island - some are local police, others work with the FBI, but all are willing to put their lives on the line to protect the innocents who fall prey to the deadly lure of the unknown, the island secrets and the ruthless scientists who work for CIRP.
